Assistant Manager, Conventions Apr 09Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Conventions, the incumbent supports the implementation of worldwide marketing strategies to grow the conventions travel to Hong Kong
Develop and manage worldwide database for business leads generation and account servicing
Manage destination support activities to deliver a quality experience to conventions visitors and reinforce Hong Kong as a premier destination for conventions
Build and maintain close relations with trade partners, event agencies and industry associations for smooth execution of all conventions
Support in research and analysis to facilitate business planning of management
Manage regular reporting and budgetary control
Assist in ad-hoc projects as required
Requirements:
University graduates with over 8 years¡¦ experience in marketing. Experience in the travel industry preferred but not necessary
Excellent marketing flair and experienced in various promotional tools
Strong written and verbal communication skill and excellent presentation skill to liaise with stakeholders such as senior government officials, event organizers, business leaders, various HKTB internal departments and overseas offices
Attuned to industry trends and analytical ability
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Strong linguistic skills in English, Chinese and preferably Mandarin
Willingness to travel from time to time
The successful candidate will be engaged on contract terms for 3 years.
