Vice President, Business Development - Hong Kong

Vice President, Business Development Primary Function:

- Lead, manage and direct marketing and sales efforts for non traditional business through understanding local regulatory, tax, solvency and insurance standards.

- Oversee all contract negotiations regarding non traditional opportunities, both new and proposed revisions for client accounts.

- Working together with the local, divisional, and corporate offices, negotiate and structure reinsurance agreements which reflect client and business objectives.

- Coordinate efforts of various pricing and modeling teams that will be involved.

- Develop strategic plans and action plans for prospecting for new opportunities and new clients, defining the essentials for success.

- Lead the research, analysis and development of new products and solutions for insurance company issues.

- Build, develop, manage, coach and mentor a team of professionals to operate and support the operational infrastructure required to support non traditional opportunities.

- Keep abreast of regulations and accounting developments in order to ensure the Company is anticipating the effect of compliance regulations and taking appropriate action.

- Initiate and facilitate education of regulators to influence their support of non traditional opportunities.

- In conjunction with the local business heads, manage the client relationships targeting non traditional opportunities.

- Support and influence major multi-national account development, and assist in the development of relationships with the head and regional offices of multi-nationals located in Asia Pacific.

- Provide customer service superior to the Company’s competitors.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or related field

- FSA accreditation

- 10+ years of actuarial experience in life insurance and/or reinsurance and/or banking

- 5+ years management experience

- 4+ years experience in international markets

- 5+ non traditional business marketing or pricing and modeling experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

- 5+ years experience in marketing non traditional business

- 4+ years experience in marketing in the Asia Pacific region

- Financial reporting or accounting experience and/or training

- Master’s Degree, MBA
