RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare financial reports for review by Financial Reporting Actuary and Chief Actuary; providing explanations and recommendations that are relevant to the business and external stakeholders.
Prepare assumptions documents, methodology guidelines and Prophet change specifications.
Review the work to ensure that it meets required service standard.
Plan and manage workflow for assigned financial reporting tasks and coordinate the plans.
Manage junior staff to meet deadlines and quality standards
Review the work of junior staff to ensure consistency, reasonableness, comprehensiveness and suitability for purpose
Manage valuation data checking to ensure quality of source data
Provide ad-hoc support for the local business in line with priority
Propose and implement improvements to regular financial reporting processes, analyses, reports and documentation
Manage and implement process changes to ensure that any new financial reporting requirements are implemented on time and as specified by the Financial Reporting Actuary
Ensure that documentation and audit trail are maintained up-to-date for all processes
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified or Associate-level Actuary
4 or more years’ experience in the life insurance industry
Good command of business English, both in written and spoken form
