Responsibilities:
Manage Asia Pacific corporate and fund tax compliance
Provide support to the U.S. tax provision process related to Asia Pacific subsidiaries/entities which includes coordination on matters of Asia/Pac tax policy and compliance review of tax provision accruals for non-U.S. subsidiary corporations/affiliates.
Provide support to the Vice President +- Global Corporate Tax and Vice President +- Finance, Asia on the development of Asia/Pac tax policies and tax guidance on matters of tax law and tax accounting policy affecting the firm. and its Asia/Pac subsidiary corporations.
Deliver tax advice and recommendations on new business initiatives, products and ventures. This will require tax research and planning projects.
Provide support to the Vice President +- Global Corporate Tax by coordinating with HR and Payroll on tax matters related to employee international assignments.
Requirement:
A degree qualified tax professional
At least 8 - 10 years’ experience in a public accounting firm and/ or corporate tax experience with substantial exposure to Asia/Pac tax issues for corporations, partnerships, financial institutions, real estate, mutual funds and other international entities.
Excellent knowledge of indirect taxes and tax laws is essential.
A general accounting background with experience in the development and review of financial statements and some experience with respect to the taxation of financial institutions or mutual funds preferred.
Excellent tax/legal research and writing skills
Highly developed organizational skills, and must be able to perform independent analysis of difficult/ controversial tax issues and forming independent development of effective tax positions in support of the entity in the case of tax examination.
Good supervisory experience and able to train up less experienced staff
Advanced computer skills and competent in the use of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Fluent written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Good team player and be competent in communicating with senior management.
Detailed minded, analytical and good ability to grasp complex technical issues.
