Senior Actuary (Our Ref.: BI-OP-GC-263-08) As a Senior Life Actuary, you will serve as a hands-on senior consultant to the actuarial department for life, annuity and health projects. The role will focus on special projects across several disciplines. Special project work typically consists of product development, corporate modelling, and/or regulator work, making a broad actuarial background critical.
Job duties:
Acquires and applies expert knowledge of the business, its products, and processes
Utilizes actuarial modelling software driven models for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management
Enters data and tables, runs models, and generates reports. May make adjustments and improvements to models, when appropriate
Maintains proper price level, price structure, data availability and other requirements to achieve profitability and competitive goals
Identifies critical experience areas to monitor and suggest timely remedies to correct or prevent unfavourable trends. Identifies sources of gain and loss by product and assumption
Tests pricing assumptions and the appropriate premiums, interests margins, reserves, and cash values for new products
Advises senior management on issues. Serves as the primary resource for cross-functional team members on escalated issues of a unique nature
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
8+ years' actuarial experience
Experience in product development, corporate modelling, and/or regulatory work
Demonstrated leadership experience
Expert knowledge of actuarial technique and procedures
Expert knowledge of data analysis tools
Expert knowledge of industry data sources
Strong communication, collaboration and innovation skills
Excellent language skills in both English and Chinese
